The Basics
My name is Jessica.
I am 27 years young, and I live somewhere in northern Ontario (Canada) with my boyfriend of one year,
I am a grad student with a thesis that is taking forever and pausing the rest of my life that I so desperately want to begin living.
On that note, I am a daydreamer. With that being said, I decided to start a blog (again).
The History
You may or may not remember me from the wildly unsuccessful blog "Elle Presidente." (Okay, you don't remember me. Fair!)
The problem with that blog was that I was so following the format of every other blog. And quite frankly, the rest of you do it so much better! It just wasn't me. So here is my second, and hopefully more successful, attempt at the internets... er, I mean blogging.
What is "The Mixtape Collections"? And why?
The short and easy answer: a cool sounding name!
Okay, actually, that is the only answer.
If I had to say why, I would say the daydreaming romantic in me remembers a time from my childhood when mixtapes were the biz. So why not have my blog named after it?
Also, the mixtape idea probably suits my style and the way this very blog will unfold... a little eclectic (read: unorganized), but it still has style and substance.
The Blog
As I was saying earlier, I tried to do the basic style and beauty kind of blog. I'm just going to leave that for the stylish. I may do a style or beauty post if the mood strikes me, but I am going to stick to lifestyle, ideas, and everything else in between!
My Wish
Above all else, I hope I meet some incredible bloggers and readers along the way.
